Christmas Down South – Day 5 – Dogwood Black

Every time a bow tie is tied, an angel gets its wings. So today, we bow tie. Dogwood Black, formerly known as Southern Ties, went live on November 1st. Still calling Fredericksburg, Virginia home, their biggest change was to become a greater reflection of who they are. “We don’t really take ourselves too seriously, but we still demand excellence and want to build something more meaningful than a larger bottom line. We wanted every facet to reflect our beliefs and while we’re not quite where we want to be yet, we think we’re on the right path.” In addition to bows, they’ve also added shirting as a response to issues they personally had with quality and price.

    Either Elf or Christmas Story. Christmas Story is a classic and you can’t beat the humor of Elf. Both great movies to enjoy.

    My favorite is The Homecoming: A Christmas Story. It’s old but if you haven’t seen it, go watch it! It’s a classic and I’m surprised no one else has posted it yet.

    Ohhh, girl! Your blog has introduced me to TOO many bowtie companies! My brother’s presents this have been ALL bowties (And Chubbies, what a lucky dude!)

    Let’s be real, everyone knows the best Christmas movie is The Santa Clause starring Tim Allen. Because, c’mon. THAT movie.

    I LOVE “White Christmas.” I’ve watched it hundreds of times; as a child, I used to ask my mom if I could watch it year-round.

    I have 2 favorite movies. The first being Elf, because who doesn’t love a funny holiday movie! The 2nd is because it is a tradition to watch it on Christmas eve with my family and it also warms my heart, and that is It’s A Wonderful Life!

    A Charlie Brown Christmas. Even though it was was before my time i watch it every year with my family and it reminds me of my childhood.

    My all time favorite.. that’s a hard call, but I’m gonna have to go with “A Christmas Story” classic and nothing is better than Christmas Eve when TBS plays 24 hours of “A Christmas Story”

    A Wish For Wings That Work immediately followed by Christmas Vacation. My parents recorded these on the same VHS and it was our tradition to watch it every Christmas Eve. I was older than I care to admit before I realized Opus and Bill were not a built-in intro to the Griswolds.
