In the third person, ’cause we fancy…
WHO ARE WE?
Full time photographer Caroline Fontenot grew up in the ‘burbs of Houston, got schooled at North Texas, married a wonderful man with Cajun blood and moved to the Colorado mountains. One year later, they packed their bags for a magical place called Georgia where they spent 7 years soaking up all the goodness that was the Deep South. In October 2016, Texas called and they now call Houston home.
Mark, the aforementioned wonderful man, also grew up in the ‘burbs of Houston, got schooled at LSU, and is one of last remaining die-hard Astros fans. He was on YoungLife property staff for 12 years and is now in real estate. He also tends to build furniture while blaring George Strait’s box set.
They are huge fans of dance floors, warm weather, epic adventures, eating good eats and drinking good drinks. They’re not fans of Uggs, the fact that Caroline once wore hemp pants, or PT Cruisers.
WHAT IS THIS?
Back Down South was created in 2011. We’re all about promoting people doing rad stuff, primarily in the South. Here, you’ll see good drinks, looks, times and tunes.
All of the photographs seen here are taken by Caroline Fontenot, unless otherwise specified and photographed exclusively for Back Down South.
Sometimes companies send us products. If we like ’em, we make them part of the good looks we post. This is specified by (c/o) in the posts where the products are featured. Now you know about the “c/o.”
