Favorite weekend getaway spot in the South:
Our family cabin at Lake Martin, Alabama. It’s my husband’s favorite place in the world and so I guess he rubbed off on me because when I think about the place where I feel the most relaxed and yet the most at home, it’s there. No agenda, great food and drinks and few activities besides moving from the dock to the boat to the dinner table…just peaceful, yummy and beautiful…

Tell everyone about Grammarcy (her full-service design print paperie):
Grammarcy is my first child. Born out of a love of weddings, it became a way for me to discover a style of my own and literally put it on paper. I work out of a home studio where I get to design and print everything from save the dates, birth announcements, wedding or shower invitations to cocktail napkins and koozies. I get to work with brides, mothers, industry professionals and lots in between. It daily allows me to be creative, be inspired and see new depths of God’s faithfulness to me all while allowing me to be at home with my greatest treasures (daughters Alice, Bess and Suzanna…and husband Baker too ;)

Now would ya look at that:

  • Target sunglasses.
  • Necklace from Laurie Anne Kendrick’s ‘Beloved Collection’.
  • Banana Republic dress.
  • Michael Kors heels.

7 IN 7 | ANDRE | DAY 5

May 8, 2015

Best meal you’ve had in the last year:
It’s very hard to play favorites, but my wife has cooked dishes this year that makes it hard to enjoy even the memory of eating out anywhere. She’s Italian decent and does delicious pasta. She’s also a born and raised New Englander who makes a killer New England Clam Chowder from scratch. I have been to some great restaurants too so there are just too many options to choose from. A lot of people think that eating out so much wouldn’t be possible financially but that’s just not the case. I often like to treat myself to a nice meal out because I budget for it and have got the AMEX Gold Card which is the best option for people like me who like dining out. It’s a privileged situation to be in where I’ve eaten so many great meals that I can’t decide or remember what my favorite was. If you want to be like this too then just make some healthy changes to your budget to be able to afford it and maybe look into getting that AMEX card.

Now would ya look at that:

  • Ray-Ban tortoiseshell clubmaster sunglasses.
  • John Varvatos pea coat.
  • J.Crew chambray shirt.
  • 7 for All jacket and jeans.
  • Cole Haan ‘Lenox Hill’ waterproof Chelsea boots.

What you’re listening to most this week:
My children. I’ve been listening to them mostly this week. But for music, I’ve heard this song non stop that my 2-year-old daughter keeps wanting played over and over. She loves it and raps along. It’s “Martinelli’s” by Wordsplayed featuring Andy Mineo.

Now would ya look at that:

  • Ray-Ban tortoiseshell clubmaster sunglasses.
  • H&M slim fit blazer (similar).
  • H&M sweatshirt.
  • J.Crew OCBD.
  • 7 For All Mankind naturally distressed ‘Slimmy’ jeans.

Inspiring others to look their best. It’s been said that “dressing well is a form of good manners,” and I agree. Among other greater virtues, being well dressed is rather polite.

  • John Varvatos pea coat.
  • YSL Italian wool scarf.
  • Banana Republic sweater.

What you miss most about living in Nashville:
My peoples…too many people to name. But geographically, I miss the warmer weather.

Something you think Boston could learn from the South:
Southern hospitality would be an obvious thing, but truthfully, there are many kind and warm welcoming people up here. So I’ll have to go with the answer: bar-b-que. Yes, learn southern bar-b-que, Boston.

Now would ya look at that:

  • H&M linen vest.
  • J.Crew shirt and tie bar.
  • Gucci detail silk tie.
  • 7 For All Mankind black ‘Slimmy’ jeans.
  • Gucci horsebit loafers (similar).

7 in 7 | Andre | Day 1

May 4, 2015

For those of you who have been reading the blog since it’s first year, you may remember our 7 in 7 series. We’d pick an item, like cowboy boots, and have 7 looks with 7 different people in 7 days. We also tackled seersucker and wearing white.

Now, we’ve brought back the series with a twist: 7 looks, 7 days, 1 human.

To start, André Mayo, the man behind Mister Earl Grey. André is from Hampton Roads, Virginia and currenly lives in the Boston area where Jamie Clayton photographed him in March. Enjoy this week of Good Looks!

When did you leave Nashville and move to Boston:
April 2014

What took you up North:
A long drive in a 16 foot Penske rental truck with a hitch for our car. My wife and I moved here to serve a newly birthed church community and live out our faith in practical ways that benefit others here in this city. We each sensed a divine leading to come to New England and partner with this new community founded by a lifelong friend of my wife’s family.

Now would ya look at that:
  • Ben Sherman blazer.
  • Banana Republic cardigan and trim fit shirt.
  • H&M linen vest.
  • J.Crew knit tie (similar) and tie bar.
  • 7 For All Mankind black ‘Slimmy’ jeans.
  • Bruno Magli ‘Raging’ slip on loafers.
