Ever since I was little my parens would grill from lunch until midnight and we’d just hang outside all day pop fireworks like crazy. (: the 4th is always the best day, God bless America, good, ad fireworks.

oh well usually I spend my 4th relaxing in New York City, seeing the Yankees play, visiting PDT speakeasy, photo shooting weddings, and ordering hotdogs and taking random jumping photos on the street. I have such a privileged life….

Living in the hills just outside of Austin, we have lots of fireworks celebrations to choose from. Instead of picking just one, we watch them all! We climb on the roof, put out a few blankets and pillows, crack open a bottle of wine, and watch the dozen or so we can see from our roof! Country life in America is PRICELESS!

Going to New Buffalo and being at the lakehouse on Lake Michigan. There is no place like it and my favorite thing to do on July 4th. It’s like The Hamptons except better and not quite as cold weather. If you’ve never been I highly suggest planning a vacation there.

The 4th of July just isn’t a celebration without grilling all the meat and vegetables you can find, and then topping it all off with cold watermelon.

The best way to celebrate the 4th is at summer camp (even if you’re the counselor)! Bomb-pops for breakfast, water games and swimming all day, and the most patriotic parade and fireworks you’ll ever see. Celebrating America with Kanakuk Kamps is a memory no kid (or counselor) could ever forget.

cooking out in Pennsylvania by the dock of the lake
with friends and family.
playing games and sharing story’s then at night getting into the boat and heading out on the water with the night sky above and the stars shining .. and then the fireworks out over the water … all nice and warm cuddling with the one you love …
