Photographed in Washington, D.C. – The Mayflower.

Raised in:
Bloomfield Hills, Michigan

Lives in:
Washington, D.C.

What brought you down south:
After eighteen years in the exact same place, I decided to pack my bags and head south to Nashville for college. Everyone told me it would be “different” from the north, but at that age, I could not conceptualize north/south cultural differences. I was shell-shocked initially but now I love the south (and country music). I think about my favorite places in Nashville all too often – Calypso Cafe (oh those Boija muffins), Mambu, Printer’s Alley, and Demonbreun Street. I can’t wait to go back for homecoming this fall! I’ve been settled in Washington, D.C. since finishing up at Vanderbilt.

Now would ya look at that:
Lauren is half of Necessary and Proper, a style blog based in D.C. Come back tomorrow to meet Van, the other half.

  • Sequin necklace.
  • ASOS dress.
  • Tory Burch bag.
  • Loeffler Randall heels.

Harding-Lane

May 8, 2012

Harding-Lane Lobster Needlepoint Hat (c/o)
Photographed in Charleston, SC

The idea for Harding-Lane needlepoint hats came to Sarah and Steve Gifford in the summer of ’09. “We both thought that it would be great to go into business together, and we thought that needlepoint would look really cool on a hat.” Sarah, having experience in needlepointing since high school, began creating the hats with their love of New England and respect for the environment. Last year, the hats were brought to market, and the brother and sister team were proud to call their products “the original needlepoint hat.” With washed tones, land and sea icons, and a sailcloth strap, the duo from Boston are offering a hat that will make for good looks below the line…on one of you!

To enter, leave a comment with your name, email and which hat you’d like to win (pick here).
To receive additional entries, ‘Like’ and ‘Tweet’ below (+1 entry for each action). The winner will be picked via random.org on Tuesday, May 15th.

Most underrated thing about Lubbock:
It has a really good music scene and great local food. Cap Rock Cafe is my favorite – huge skooner margarita, queso burger and the best French fries.

Now would ya look at that:
Remember Copeland? Meet his mom, Emily, enjoying some rocker time on a Sunday afternoon.

  • Tory Burch earrings (private sale).

Cody

April 26, 2012

Photographed in Knoxville, TN

Raised in:
Knoxville, Tennessee

Lives in:
Knoxville, Tennessee

Best thing about living in Knoxville:
The best thing about Knoxville (besides the southern girls) is the location. Deep down, I’m a redneck…I love country music, fishing, riding horses, and shooting guns. If you’re not into that you can go downtown, take the boat on the lake, head to the farm, or backpack in the mountains. Also, we’re close to Nashville, Atlanta, and the Carolinas if you want to skip town for a few days!

Now would ya look at that:

  • Wolverine 1000 Mile Boot (his favorite boots).
  • Levi’s 511 skinny jeans.
  • J. Crew buffalo check flannel.
  • Levi’s leather jacket.

Anna

April 24, 2012

Photographed in Nashville, TN

Raised in:
Nashville, Tennessee

Lives in:
Nashville, Tennessee

Favorite thing about your college town:
My favorite thing about Auburn, Alabama is how, in true college town form, everything is geared toward students. It feels like summer camp – extended summer camp. With lots of barbeque and football thrown in.

Now would ya look at that:
When I met Anna she was folding hundreds of Volunteer Traditions shirts, wearing this cute get up.

  • Urban Outfitters top and red jeans.
  • Ralph Lauren huarache shoes from 1986 (the year she was born). “I distinctly remember my mom wearing them when I was younger. They’ve always been my favorite, so it’s so fun to wear them now.”

Jonathan

Photographed at the Atlanta Steeplechase

Raised in:
Marietta, Georgia

Lives in:
Atlanta, Georgia

Favorite part of the Atlanta Steeplechase:
I would have to say the pageantry and tailgating fun associated with the event. This year was unbeatable! We had beautiful weather, cold drinks, and good friends to experience it with!

Now would ya look at that:
A while back, I posted a photo of Nick, half of Brier & Moss. Today, it’s time to meet Jonathan, the other half.

  • Custom made suit by Trio Tailoring of Atlanta. “I opted for a three piece suit in a summer weight fabric and chose the more modern European cut. My favorite detail on the suit are the working cuffs, which will allow me to roll up my sleeves in the heat of these infamous Georgia summers!”
  • All silk woven Brier & Moss custom bow tie for the Atlanta Steeplechase (here).
  • Cole Haan Pinch Penny Loafers (when not covered in dust, they’re burgundy).
  • J.Crew socks.

BONUS: The boys want to give away one of their Atlanta Steeplechase bow ties! To enter, leave a comment with your name and email. To receive additional entries, ‘Like’ and ‘Tweet’ below (+1 entry for each action). The winner will be picked via random.org on Wednesday, April 25th.

7 in 7 | Allison

April 15, 2012

Photographed in Nashville, TN

Raised in:
Vero Beach, Florida

Lives in:
Nashville, Tennessee

Favorite thing about Nashville:
I love the casual atmosphere and southern fashion traditions (the fall clothes, no white after Labor Day, cowboy boots). There is always something to do and you’re always surrounded by music. It’s a good change from Florida.

Now would ya look at that:
Allison is the Production Manager at Leona and is wearing their Wallace tie linen trousers and Queen City top. Also noted, her monogrammed necklace. This was shot outside the Leona studio on 12th South in Nashville.
