Photographed in Auburn, GA

Raised in:
Dalton, Georgia

Lives in:

Favorite southern spot to photograph:
Probably anywhere near the Georgia coast. I’m not really into the beach, but I love the landscape down there. Huge oak trees and spanish moss are make me happy. Cumberland Island is a special place in particular, but by far the most impressive wedding venue I’ve ever seen was a private residence on Sea Island. Also, the Chattooga Club in Cashiers, North Carolina was also just mind blowingly gorgeous.

Now would ya look at that:
My friend Ben of Pure Gold Photo second shooting this wedding with me.

  • Rockin’ chops.
  • Express linen skinny tie.
  • Johnston & Murphy double-center stitched belt.

  • Johnston & Murphy Tranum saddle shoes.

Favorite meal in Nashville:
Currently, my newest love is the Germantown Cafe, Eastside or Germantown variety. Starting with their exceptional french onion soup, some fried yeast rolls, and finishing with the fish of the day-all washed down with a whiskey ginger. Complete with a fantastic view of the city and the Capitol lawn.

Now would ya look at that:
You met Nick before Brier & Moss had officially launched. Now, he and Jonathan are two of my favorite boys in the bow tie business.

  • Post cocktails at Whiskey Kitchen.
  • Charles Tyrwhitt slim fit shirt found at Southern Thrift on Charlotte Ave.
  • Mallard tie found at Goodwill.

Summer beers of choice:
Every summer, Dos Equis Lager is my go to. I am extremely seasonal with my beer and refuse to drink Dos Equis unless it’s hot outside. This summer, a new addition to my favorite beer list is Shiner‘s Ruby Redbird. For me, it’s a game changer, because I despise grapefruit, yet I somehow loved this beer. I recommend putting it in the freezer first and making it a tad slushy. Finally, I’ve been loving Sweetwater Blue. Once summer hits, there are always blueberries in my fridge, so naturally I’m gravitating to this beer.

Now would ya look at that:
Snapped right before eating the best meal we’ve had in Athens at Five & Ten.

  • Sunglasses found thrifting in Savannah.
  • Kate Spade bow earrings (similar).
  • LA Made Cape Cod dress.
  • Clutch found at Unclaimed Baggage in Scottsboro, Alabama.
  • Essie Mint Candy Apple nail polish, purchased after seeing it on Mary Catherine.
  • Steve Madden sandals.

Favorite music spot in Nashville:
The Ryman. There’s just nothing else like a show at the Mother Church. The acoustics, the atmosphere, the history – everything is perfect about it. I’ve been to about twenty five shows there and I count many of them among the best I’ve ever seen.

Now would ya look at that:
Meet Larry, the man behind Cause a Scene Music, officially started earlier this year. The series features many local and national touring acts. “I’m a huge fan of the community that is fostered through having a band play in the house and the fellowship between guests who are from very different social circles.” Larry has hosted ten shows through May with ten more booked between now and August. Follow the blog and Facebook if you’re interested in catching a great house show in Nashville.

  • Costa Del Mar Stinger sunglasses.
  • J. Crew gingham shirt and vintage slim jeans.

What brought you to the south:
After graduating from college in San Diego, and after a little stint in Austin, Teach For America assigned me to Nashville to teach for two years. Three years later, I’m still here because of the things that make the South unlike any other place: hospitality, front porches, rocking chairs, sweet tea, gorgeous autumns, rich history, and the amazing people.

Now would ya look at that:

  • J. Crew sweater and shorts.
  • Necklace found on etsy.
  • Watch worn by her mom in college.
  • Guess shoes.

Favorite southern meal:
Nothing quite beats our crop of summertime fruits and vegetables in the South. So this time of year, my favorite meal is a quintessential southern picnic – peaches, tomato pie, fresh okra, silver queen cream corn and chicken salad sandwich. Toss in a chocolate pecan pie and I’m done for!

Now would ya look at that:

  • H&M’s Conscious Collection top. “I believe in championing apparel companies that utilize sustainable materials and empower their employees by providing fair trade working environments. A tough task, but H&M continues to pioneer the movement for fast-fashion brands.”
  • H&M necklace.
  • bySMITH shorts (designer Smith Sinrod is a Southern girl herself).
  • Bracelet – a vintage belt.
  • Belt – Gucci replica. “I love this fabric belt. It is actually very similar to a Gucci design that I saw in the Gucci store a few months ago. If you would like to find a belt like this one, you might want to check out some of the amazing replica designs out there online. This fake Gucci belt guide by Maria Dipalo might also come in handy. Belts are such a fun way to accessorize your outfits but you should not have pay too much for one if you are on a budget! I love wearing belts and have quite a few in my collection.”
  • Ring – “When I graduated high school, Mama had the diamond earrings Dad gave her on her first Mother’s Day set into a ring for me. I’ve worn it every day since.”
  • Essie Mint Candy Apple nail polish.

Favorite southern word:
“Y’all” because it is such a natural part of speech in the South. I try not to use “y’all” in emails for work (in attempt to be more professional), but nothing else seems to sound right.

Now would ya look at that:
You’ve seen Kimber on here twice before (here and here).

  • J.Crew shirt.
  • American Apparel belt.
  • Nixon watch.
  • Bracelet found at Serendipity (12th South in Nashville).
  • Her mother’s ring, worn every day since she was 16. Her mom received it as a high school graduation gift from her parents.
  • Anthropologie skirt.
  • Steve Madden flats.

Photographed in Washington, D.C.

Raised in:
Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

Lives in:
Washinton, D.C.

Favorite getaway below the Line:
Palm Beach, Florida. My parents are snowbirds and have made PB their wintertime nest – and since it’s such a quick trip from DC, I visit as often as possible. I love Dixie Highway antique stores, egg BLTs from Green’s Pharmacy, Worth Avenue’s famous shopping, bike rides along the Lake Trail, and grilled artichokes at the Palm Beach Grill. It’s definitely the land of Lilly and Stubbs, so it’s fun to really go wild with bold colors and prints.

Now would ya look at that:
Van of Necessary & Proper. Together, he and Lauren run one of my favorite style blogs.

  • Rugby RL jacket.
  • Ralph Lauren tie, belt, and shoes.
  • Brooks Brothers pants (ankle length).
  • Tiffany & Co engine-turned belt buckle.
  • Burberry umbrella.
