dcoybrand

August 1, 2013

dcoy

Y’all didn’t think the rebrand meant we aren’t into bow ties anymore, right?

We’re not going to lie to you, it takes a lot for a bow tie company to impress these days. I mean, let’s be honest, there’s about a million of them. When dcoybrand reached out to us, however, we were impressed. Their neckties, bow ties, and pocket squares are made with vintage fabrics sourced from various spots in America. The bows have wooden buttons for size adjustments. Most of all, we loved how each design was part of a small batch. The one they kindly sent us, The Terrence, is only 1 of 8 produced.

And then it arrived, and it became hands down the best packaging of any product we’ve ever seen. The icing on the cake? They’re based in New Orleans. Geaux figure.

Hunter Monsour, founder of dcoybrand, told us that the brand was inspired by his grandfather. “He was so incredibly Americana, a man’s man with an effortless style.” He wanted to create crafted clothing for crafted people, and exceed expectations. “With the entire experience from fabric to packaging, we look to really push the limits of what is expected in apparel. Every piece comes dutifully packaged in hand crafted wooden packaging that really creates a brand experience that is second to none. ” Obviously, we agree.

So, let’s kick off August with another summer giveaway! To enter…

  • Check out dcoybrand’s neckties and bow ties.
  • Leave a comment on this post letting us which dcoybrand tie you want.
  • Get an extra entry for Tweeting:

Suitsupply – Austin

Kennessaw, Georgia

Lives in:
Atlanta, GA

What mistake you see most men make concerning fit:
The mistake I see men make most is buying their suits too big. The first thing we look for at Suitsupply is if the jacket fits in the shoulders. If the jacket fits in the shoulders, then nine times out of ten a good tailor can alter the rest of the garment to fit everywhere else. If it looks a little big in the shoulders, then we suggest trying one size down. The trousers should also be worn on the “natural waist” and men should always keep in mind that a trouser can be altered through the waist, seat, and leg to ensure a perfect fit.

Now would ya look at that:
Meet Austin, Made to Measure Specialist at Atlanta’s Suitsupply.

Wearing all Suitsupply…

  • Plain blue Washington suit.

Like a Truck,Truck

June 25, 2013

Photographed in Andrews, NC

Raised in:
Spartanburg, South Carolina

Lives in:
Nashville, Tennessee

Favorite bar in Charleston:
That’s incredibly tough. Most likely Closed For Business. It’s owned by the same great people that own Taco Boy, Poe’s, and The Royal American. It has an incredible beer selection, great food, atmosphere, and amazing bathroom wallpaper (you’ll have to visit to see it). Poe’s on Sullivan’s Island also could be the best place to get a beer in Charleston. I like going to the beach at Sullivan’s late in the afternoon for a few hours (lets be honest, I’m not going to get a tan) and then walking to get beers at Poe’s on their front porch.

Now would ya look at that:
After we shot a wedding in Andrews together, this happened.

  • Electric ‘Knoxville’ sunglasses.
  • J.Crew blazer, tie clip, and Bowery oxford cloth pants.
  • Express 1MX shirt.
  • Nautica tie.
  • Dinner napkin from a previous wedding he shot as a pocket square.
  • Nisolo belt.
  • Cole Haan ‘Air Colton’ wingtips.
  • Brooklyn Brewery Summer Ale.

Favorite BBQ spot in Georgia:
As a reformed Southerner, I have grown addicted to soul food and barbecue. As of late, I have been on the hunt for Georgia’s best. So far, I have yet to see anything beat Dawg Gone Good BBQ in Athens, but Fox Brothers is next to be tested.

Now would ya look at that:
Previous Morgan appearances: Date Night, Ups, Holiday Party.

  • J.Crew henley.
  • Levi’s 511 white jeans.

Raised in:
Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Lives in:
Athens, Georgia

Favorite thing about Athens in the summer:
First of all, in Athens, only the true townies stay for the summer while all the college kids are gone, so that already makes Athens heavenly. But one of my favorite events is Athfest, this huge music street festival that goes on for days. It’s such a big city feel with amazing music from all varieties of bands paired with incredible food and libations. Basically, just a good time.

Now would ya look at that:
Before dinner at Roswell’s new restaurant,  Opulent.
Previous Candice appearances: Date Night, Holiday Party.

  • Target sunglasses.
  • Gap top.
  • LOFT belt.
  • Skirt found at Community, a vintage boutique in Athens.

What you miss most about living “below the line”:
In general, I miss the country. I miss nature and constantly being a short car ride to hiking, camping, or swimming. Specific to Nashville, I miss the music scene so much. I miss live old country and bluegrass.

Now would ya look at that:
Alex Crawford is the Head Photographer, Art Director and a Co-Owner at TSBMen.com. I’m a huge TSB Men fan, so a while back when they tweeted that Alex was in Nashville, I reached out to see if Jamie could shoot him. Everyone obliged and made it happen.

  • Indochino linen blend suit and fan patterned shirt.
  • Vintage tie and pocket square.
  • Hand-me-down crocodile belt and croc shoes from his father.
