Jamie, Part IX

February 12, 2014

46230013Photographed in Charleston, SC by Nathan Westerfield

Raised in:
Spartanburg, South Carolina

Lives in:
Nashville, Tennessee

Favorite part of your outfit:
I love my pants by Iron & Resin, my favorite clothing company. They are absolutely killing it with their image and product. These are from a recent line where they partnered with the classic Dickies. They updated the traditional Dickies cuts with a more modern fit using awesome Japanese fabrics and Dickies’ own selvage Cramerton cloth. The pocket has a nice japanese floral touch to it to make the pants stand out.

Now would ya look at that:
Thanks to Nathan Westerfield for snapping this photo of Jamie at a recent Charleston wedding they shot together at Lowndes Grove Plantation.

  • Billy Reid bow tie.
  • J.Crew shirt and cashmere sweater (similar).
  • Luminox watch.
  • Nisolo belt.
  • Dickies x Iron & Resin pants (manufactured in one of the oldest operating Dickies facilities in Uvalde, Texas).
  • Wolverine ‘1000 mile’ boots.

Xan

XanPhotographed in Matthews, NC

Raised in:
Nashville, Tennessee

Lives in:
Charlotte, North Carolina

When you started Buffalo Jackson:
Complete randomness. It was 2009, and I was co-leading a trip with college students who were primarily from the South in Jackson, Wyoming (trainingground.com). I ran the idea by some guys in the Jackson Mercantile, took the few hundred bucks I had to my name, and went chasing the dream.

Describe the products:
Take hard working Carhartt and mix it with the classic and stylish Brooks Brothers, and you get Buffalo Jackson. We call it “The Rugged Gentleman.” He is comfortable tying a dry fly or a bow tie.

Store inspiration:
A combination of my grandfather’s garage and an old West trading post.

Now would ya look at that:
Meet Xan, the man behind Buffalo Jackson (you figured that out by now, though). We visited the store in Matthews a few weekends ago and man, is it awesome! We’ve been huge fans of Xan and the products he represents for a while now, so it was a joy to finally shake his hand and get lost admiring the store. It’s a must visit if you’re in the Charlotte area! Directions here.

  • Buffalo Jackson flannel and belt.

Nashville native, moved back 3 years ago and doesn’t plan to ever leave.

Lives in:
Nashville, Tennessee

Best live performance you saw in 2013:
Mumford & Sons in Birmingham, Alabama at Oak Mountain Amphitheatre on September 9th. Ben Lovett from the band invited me to come down for the show and I was able to watch it from back stage the whole night and hang out with the band until the early hours of the next day. It wasn’t just the best show of 2013, it was the best of my life and one I will never be able to forget.

Now would ya look at that:
This photo was previously featured in Nashville Lifestyle’s MVP’s of the Music Industry, a collection of “business savvy all-stars who are propelling the Nashville music industry forward.” Larry deserves every bit of the love and recognition he’s received for launching Cause a Scene Music!

Best thing about living in Charlotte:
It’s been pretty great seeing how Twitter has made moving to a new connected city so much easier. I’ve had drinks with some amazing folks in the past three months just by Tweeting at ’em. It wasn’t this easy when we headed up to Boston, and for that I’m thankful. Oh, and the fact that our little one will be born a Tar Heel.

Coffee Joint

January 16, 2014

Lauren_BDSPhotographed in Atlanta, GA

Raised in:
Marietta, Georgia

Lives in:
Roswell, Georgia

Favorite shop in Atlanta:
This is a toss up. My favorite in Atlanta would be the White Provisions Shopping District. I like that the area has a small town feel but is just outside of the city center. Not only does it have some of my favorite places to shop, its also loaded with good eats that are original to Atlanta. As for outside of Atlanta shopping, I have been loving the Peach State Pride Store (Watkinsville). It has a boutique feel loaded with super cute/unique finds for women along with Peach State Pride gear for all of the proud Georgia raised folks – like me!

Now would ya look at that:
Lauren at The Warhorse Coffee Joint.

  • Gap vest.
  • Blouse found at Nordstrom Rack.
  • Forever 21 necklace.
  • Ann Klein watch.
  • Shop Ruche jeans and wedges.

StephanieBlogPhotographed in Birmingham, AL by Mark

Raised in:
Miami, Florida

Lives in:
Birmingham, Alabama

Favorite Southern getaway spot:
Tough one – Houston, Charleston, New Orleans and D.C. are all favorites for the people, food, drinks, and opportunities to explore. My favorite unexpected getaway has been to the tiny town of Lewisburg, West Virginia. Such a beautiful area with great people close to the Greenbier Resort. The Irish Pub on Washington Street is such a cool spot. The night I was there a couple of violin players that work with the town’s Carnegie Hall were covering rock songs!

Now would ya look at that:
Meet Stephanie Granada, Style Editor for Southern Living Magazine.

  • KREWE du optic ‘The Fly’ sunglasses. “One of my favorite new Southern brands. The shapes and colors are both cool and classic, and no pair is over $200! I love this style because it’s like Ray
Ban and Karen Walker got together and made a super cute shady baby.”
  • Vintage necklace.
  • “The sweater has no tags, so I have no clue who makes it, but the puffed sleeves make me think it’s from the ’80s. Or maybe it’s a girls’s sweater.”
  • Tennis trench. “I got it in Colombia 7 years ago for $30. I call it my journalist jacket because it makes me feel like Harriet Chalmer Adams about to go into the trenches.”
  • Cheap Monday skirt from Wolfgang (Gainseville).
  • Wolford tights.
  • Cynthia Vincent booties scored at Belk for $90. “I’m really rough on shoes so cheap pairs are essential.”
