Favorite southern meal:
Athens turned me into a complete food nerd and every restaurant in town has amazing fare (though the best meal I’ve ever had had in Athens was made by the Four Coursemen). However, they can’t beat my grandmother’s cooking. My favorite thing she makes is poppyseed chicken casserole with yellow rice, green beans, and homemade biscuits with mayhaw jelly, and pound cake with strawberries for dessert.
Now would ya look at that:
Sports coat and Bass penny loafers were Athens thrift finds. Belt is a usable horse hoof pick found on an equestrian supply website. The bow tie was made from one of his uncle’s ties after he passed away: “My grandmother is a great seamstress and my brother is a theater major with a lot of costume design and production experience, so they helped me figure out how to make the conversion myself. I was inspired to give it a shot by The Cordial Churchman, but I’m too cheap to pay someone to do something if I think I can figure out how to do it myself.”
